Prayers For Deliverance From Drug And Alcohol Addiction

Where are you from originally and where do you reside now?

I am originally from Winston Salem N.C. but l now live in Cayce, S.C.

If you currently reside somewhere besides where you were born, what’s the story that lead from there to here?

I was homeless and on crack and l was just passing through. And as time passed l meet a young woman who encouraged me to rededicate my life back to the Ministry and she also became my wife.

What made you decide to write and publish your first book?

I was homeless and tired of the lifestyle. And one day l sitting in the woods and reading the book of Luke 4:1-13, and l noticed how Jesus applied the promises of God to overcome the devil’s temptations, so l decided to look up all the verses l could find to apply whenever certain temptations presented themselves and l kept these verses written down on paper bags or anything l could find to write on. And when l would feel the urges to use, drink, steal, sleep with a whore …l would pull out my Scriptures. After other homeless people notice my life changing they started asking me what was my secret, and l’d share with them certain verse. Eventually l was encouraged by church members to turn those bits of paper l had the deliverance verses written on into a book to share with others.

How would you describe your books to first time readers?

I was tell that God has heard their prayers for deliverance and that when they start applying the suggestions and prayers in the book that God’s word promises that they will never give into the temptations or urges associated with drug or alcohol addiction again.

Who do you feel is most likely to connect with the topics you write about?

Struggling addicts, family members who have a love one struggling and Churches that have a drug and alcohol deliverance program.

What unexpected or surprising thing did you learn during the process of writing and publishing?

I learned that the more l read other books the better l became as a writer.

If you could, what advice would you give to your past self before embarking on this journey?

I would say, “self, always remember that the Bible confirms that wrong companions corrupt good intentions and good morals, so choose your friends and associates carefully”.

How many people would you ideally like to reach with your books?

Millions.

What has been the biggest challenge and frustration during the process to date?

No a whole lot of book sales.

What’s your biggest strengths when it comes to book a) writing, b) publishing and c) marketing?

Using my personal life and past struggles as a testimony to encourage others to never give up their fight for deliverance from any addiction.

What’s your biggest weakness when it comes to book a) writing, b) publishing and c) marketing?

Not knowing how to market by books with a strategy.

When do you think you will write your next book?

I can’t say. I always have something in mind but before l start anything new l would like to see better sales with what l’ve already written.

Are you self published or did you use a hybrid publisher, or a traditional publisher?

Self published.
